Magid is a data devotee. He’s been using R, SQL and Power BI to sift, find and present precious supporter insights, trends and behaviours at The Children’s Society since 2016. Magid is the go-to person for anything related to supporter segmentation, data modelling, data visualisation and insight-driven decision making. He is the charity’s lead on lifetime value modelling and in fact the sector recently recognised his work with an award for Most Powerful Use of Insight in One-to-One Fundraising.
Much of Magid’s focus is about making data accessible and – most importantly – usable. He disseminates the right information with the right amount of detail to the right people.
Taking an unorthodox path after university Magid became a recognised fundraiser where he fully understood the pressure and nuance involved in relationship building. He uses this experience – and his ability to translate stale, complex datasets into rich and tangible insights – to work with in-house teams to establish creative yet coherent supporter journeys. All while growing the charity’s data- understanding and data culture.
His work has enabled the charity to deliver authentic value to supporters and make significant strides in the ongoing quest for a seamless, efficient and personalised supporter experience. Part fundraiser, part data guy, part volunteer Magid is wholly immersed in the non-profit sector, particularly when it comes to children’s causes. Such a shame he’s an Arsenal fan..
