Member Engagement Manager, Royal Statistical Society
Before joining the Royal Statistical Society (RSS), Amaka worked at the Royal College of Pathologists in the Public Engagement Department. For over four years, she organised events and initiatives, including National Pathology Week, to promote and engage the public with pathology.
Following this, Amaka joined the RSS, seeking a path where she could work closely with volunteers. As Member Engagement Manager, she is responsible for encouraging members to volunteer and get involved in the RSS. She supports the Society's Sections, Local Groups and Special Interest Groups. These are volunteer-led groups that organise events on statistical topics and around the UK.
In addition, Amaka manages the Statisticians for Society initiative, which provides a range of volunteering opportunities for members, including a pro bono scheme which matches UK charities with volunteer statisticians and data scientists.
